1978 If you were involved in the Kenmore High band or orchestra programs under the direction of John Rodgers between 1978-1989, or you know someone who was, this message is for you:
Legendary Kenmore High School band director John Rodgers is retiring at the end of 2010 school year. He moved into guidance counseling in the late 80s but before he did he made a major impact on a lot of young musicians at KHS, not just because of his musical skills but because of who he is as a person. He is retiring at the end of this year, and some of the KHS Band alumni are planning a big KHS Band get together and retirement party for him.
One of the most important tasks is networking to locate as many people as possible. Any thoughts or assistance would be appreciated. Here are some easy and specific things that you can do:
- Please personally contact Tod Moses or Kim Oziomek Mender and let us know if you are interested in attending!
- Let us know if you would be interested in helping out with planning.
- Pass this info on to anyone that you know that was part of this large group of people. Heck, you can even tell those who weren’t there but may know someone who was.
- Please share contact info with us. This will be very important for the organization of this event.
Last, but not least, we are going to make every effort to make this event a SURPRISE to John, so please be discrete and tell others to do the same.
